Frida x Aira

Shambhala is an imaginary utopia that is believed to exist on the Tibetan Plateau and is the origin of Shangri-La. ‘Shambhala’, a mysterious paradise, can be found by passing the river that turns skin into rock when touched, the meadows where elephants and does play, and the forests of beasts.

The Tree of Love

"As you enter the world of Shambhala, you will be greeted by the majestic snow leopard, the main character of my paintings. This savage yet welcoming beast sits at the valley of mystical Himalayas, guarding the utopia and pushing away the uninvited. It's fascinating to see the fierce animal with its golden eyes staring at you, captivating you with its intense and lovely figure. And if you're lucky enough, you might catch a glimpse of the eight baby snow leopards and pandas playing in the big tree of paradise, symbolising good luck. It's a world full of wonder and hope, waiting to be explored."

Trip to Shangri-La

"As an artist, I have always been fascinated by the idea of exploration and adventure. In my latest series of paintings, a traveler embarks on a journey to the moonlight Shangri-La, filled with hope and anticipation. The main character in these works is the snow leopard, a fierce and savage beast that guards the entrance to Shambhala, a utopian land nestled in the mystical Himalayas. Despite its intimidating nature, the snow leopard welcomes travelers with open arms, pushing out the uninvited and protecting this paradise. When I paint this animal, I am captivated by its heart-shaped orange nose and golden eyes that stare back at me with intensity and beauty."
